A RED flood warning has been placed on the river Severn at a village near Worcester.
The Environment Agency (EA) warned that flooding is expected at Court Meadow, Kempsey and Callow End.
River levels are rising at the Kempsey Yacht Club river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall with flooding of property, roads and farmland possible from this evening (Thursday).
The Environment Agency expects flooding to affect Court Meadow Caravan Park with a predicted peak at Kempsey Yacht Club between 6.1m to 6.5m on Sunday.
The EA said: "We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are liaising with Local Authorities and checking defences.
"Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
There are also several flood alerts in Worcestershire including on the river Severn.
Flooding is expected to affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Highley to Tewkesbury.
Locations affected are Stourport, Holt Fleet, Worcester, Kempsey, Severn Stoke, Upton upon Severn, South Quay, Diglis Parade and the Hylton Road towpath, B4195 Stourport Road.
Flooded drains may affect the racecourse and Worcester County cricket ground.
New Street Gate is now closed at Upton upon Severn.
There is a red flood warning on the river Avon at Wyre Piddle and Evesham.
There is also flood alerts on the River Salwarpe in Droitwich, Barbourne Brook and Bow and Piddle Brook.
