An Offenham food ingredient supplier has raised almost £5,000 for various charities.

The Brusco Food Group's fundraising efforts started in July last year when managing director, Andrew Ashby, urged his team to turn a £20 note into a considerable sum for charitable causes.

The staff then organised a series of fundraising activities, including bake sales, fancy dress days, raffles, a connect four tournament and a bingo event resulting in substantial donations.

Mr Ashby said: "We’re so proud to give back to such worthy causes through our charity fundraising activities.

"It’s been a fantastic team effort from everybody at Brusco and we’d like to thank all of the businesses that we’ve spoken to through our fundraising activities, we’ve had some amazing donations from many local and national companies."

Brusco raised £2,152 for Alzheimer’s Society, £785 for The Circuit’s Defibrillator Appeal, £538 for Mind UK, and £400 for Acorns Children’s Hospice.

The company also directly added £1,000 to the Alzheimer’s Society funds, making the total amount raised £4,875.

Adam Evans, Alzheimer’s Society community fundraiser, said: "We are so grateful for the incredible £3,152 Brusco Food Group have raised for Alzheimer’s Society.

"Each hour people generously give to fundraise for us, every event they take part in, every pound they donate, they’re making a life-changing difference to people living with dementia.

“Alzheimer’s Society provides vital support to people living with dementia, funds ground breaking research and campaigns to make dementia the priority it should be.

"Together, we will end the devastation caused by dementia.

“There are over 900,000 people living with dementia in the UK. But we simply can’t reach everyone without the continued support of our incredible fundraisers like Brusco Food Group.”
