Worcester Magistrates Court: Drug drivers and harassment

CHRISTOPHER STONES, of Owletts End, Pinvin, Pershore, admitted failing to comply with a section 35 direction excluding a person from an area.

The 33-year-old committed the offence on January 7, Stones failing to leave Worcester city centre when told to and without reasonable excuse.

He admitted criminal damage to property - damaging a cell at Kidderminster Police Station on August 9. 

Stones also denies harassment without violence. The crown alleges that offence took place between January 2 and January 8.

The prosecution says Stones pursued a course of conduct which amounted to harassment of the victim. 

Stones, who has unconditional bail, was told to attend his trial which is scheduled to take place on March 6 - when he will also be sentenced for the crime.

BILLY BIDDLE, of Oakley Close, Worcester, admitted breaching his criminal behaviour order.

The 19-year-old committed the offence on April 26 in Malvern. 

Biddle was given 12 weeks jail, magistrates decided the offence was so serious only a custodial sentence could be handed to him. 

The defendant's jail sentence was suspended for 12 weeks.

Biddle was also ordered to pay £185 costs. 

JOHN MACPHERSON, of Colletts Fields, Broadway, admitted intentional strangulation. 

The 60-year-old committed the offence on April 6 last year in Broadway. 

Macpherson was ordered to pay the victim £150 compensation and fined £800. 

He was also ordered to pay £185 costs and £320 victim surcharge.

MacPherson was ordered to pay the £1,455 total within 28 days. 

COURT: Worcester Magistrates Court LAKHBINDER BARNS, of Kilbury Drive, Worcester, denies threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place and assault by beating. 

The crown alleges the 41-year-old committed both offences on August 25 last year in Worcester.

Barns, who was given unconditional bail, was told to attend his expected three-hour trial at Worcester Magistrates Court on June 3.

BEN ALFORD, of Swanpool Walk, Worcester, denies harassment without violence. 

The 31-year-old is alleged by the prosecution to have committed the offence between August 12 and September 5 last year.

The crown alleges the harassment took place on social media and through calls. 

Alford, who was given unconditional bail, was told to attend his expected three-hour trial taking place at Worcester Magistrates Court on May 20. 

MARY MCDONAGH, of Port Street, Evesham admitted assault by beating. 

The 23-year-old committed the offence on September 8 in Evesham. 

McDonagh was ordered to pay £50 compensation to the victim.

The defendant was fined £200, and given a two-year restraining order not to contact the victim either directly or indirectly. 

Magistrates ordered McDonagh pay £70 costs and £80 victim surcharge. 

The defendant was given 28 days to pay the £400 total in full. 

SONYA FRY, of Vesta Tilley Court, Worcester, admitted an offence of racially/religiously aggravated intentional harassment/alarm/distress - words/writing. 

Magistrates heard the 51-year-old committed the offence on June 24 in Worcester. 

Fry was ordered to pay £50 compensation and fined £150.

The defendant was also ordered to pay costs of £90 and £60 victim surcharge. 

Fry has been ordered to pay the total amount of £350 in full within 28 days.

ISTEHSAN ULHAQ, of Merton Close, Worcester, admitted drug driving. 

The 25-year-old was caught driving a Nissan Qashqai on Rose Avenue, Worcester, on October 28, 2023. 

The proportion of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in Ulhaq's blood was above the legal limit. 

Ulhaq was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £250. 

The defendant was ordered to pay costs of £135 and £100 victim surcharge.
