WORCESTER was packed as Light Night 2024 got underway.
There was lots to see across the city on Wednesday, (February 14), on the first evening of the two-day event as illuminated art installations grabbed the attention.
And visitors enjoyed the food stalls and street performances which were put on for them.
The free event is the fifth annual Light Night and offers new unique installations and attractions every year.
Some of the outdoor eye-catching exhibitions this year at the Severn Arts-organised event includes Evanscent by Atelier Sisu in Cornmarket and Network by Gemma Wood outside The Hive.
St Andrew's Methodist Church stained glass window turned heads as it was lit up in Pump Street.
There were big queues to see the indoor exhibitions including in Crowngate Shopping Centre and St Helen's Church.
And spinning circles set to music for the Kinetic Perspectives by Juan Fuentes exhibition was a magical sight in Cathedral Square.
The Summers family, from Powick, was among those enjoying themselves on the first night.
Dad, Craig said: "It is fantastic, we come every year, a bit of a family tradition.
"The city is doing a really good job of organising it - a free event as well."
Jack Wright was running a stall selling lights on High Street.
He said: "It has been busy, lots of kids (have been buying lights).
"It is a good event this. It is getting better, more popular every year.
"It has been raining though, but it is on tomorrow night (as well)."
Light Night is being held in Worcester city centre again this evening between 6pm and 9pm.
