THREE people have been taken to hospital after a "serious" crash that has closed a busy main Cotswold road.

Two men have sustained serious injuries after a three-car crash on the B4077 near Toddington this morning (Friday).

Another man has also been injured but his injuries are believed to not be serious.

The crash involved a silver Ford Fiesta, a black Ford Kuga and a blue Seat Ibiza and took place close to the Orchard Industrial Estate.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a man in his 40s, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and the driver of the Seat Ibiza, a man also in his 40s, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

A man in his 50s, the driver of the Ford Kuga, was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary said: "Officers are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision which took place on the B4077 near Toddington this morning (Friday 26 January).

"Police were called shortly before 7am with a report of a three-vehicle collision at the crossroads with the B4078.

"Investigating officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police or who has dashcam footage of what happened.

Road closures in the area are expected to remain in place for a number of hours with motorists asked to find alternative routes.
