DRINK and drug drivers, and those in court for similar offences, appear at Worcestershire courts weekly.
Drink and drug driving normally attracts a compulsory driving ban and usually results in a hefty fine.
Here are some of the drivers who were caught and appeared at Worcester Magistrates Court recently:
NIGEL WEBSTER, of William Tennant Way, Upton-upon-Severn, admitted drink driving.
The court heard the 70-year-old drove a Mercedes SLK on Rectory Road, Upton, gave an evidential sample to police of 48 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath - the legal limit being 35mcg.
Webster committed the offence on November 24 this year.
The defendant was disqualified for 12 months but was given the chance to take a drink-drive awareness course which, if successfully completed, will reduce the ban length by three months.
Webster was also fined £276 and ordered to pay costs of £60 and £110 victim surcharge.
The defendant was told to pay the full amount, £446, in full within 28 days.
THOMAS PHILPOTT, of School Road, Salford Priors, Evesham, admitted drink driving.
The 39-year-old drove a Ford Ranger Index on Ban Brook Road, Salford Priors, while having 57mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath - exceeding the legal limit of 35mcg.
Philpott committed the offence on November 17.
The defendant was disqualified for 15 months, reduced by 15 weeks if he completes a drink-drive awareness court.
Philpott was also fined £576, costs of £135 and victim surcharge of £230.
NICHOLA GODFREY-FLETCHER, of Northfield Street, Worcester, admitted failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
The 42-year-old committed the offence in Worcester on November 18.
Godfrey-Fletcher was banned from driving for 36 months, which will be reduced by 36 weeks if she completes a drink-drive awareness course.
Godfrey-Fletcher was also fined £276, and told to pay costs of £135 and £110 victim surcharge.
ADEL CHEBBI, 32, of Worcester Road, Malvern, admitted drink driving.
Chebbi committed the offence in a Skoda on Townsend Way, Malvern, on December 17 last year.
Chebbi was disqualified from driving for 15 months.
The defendant was offered the chance to take the drink-drive awareness course which, if he successfully completes, will reduce the ban length by 15 weeks.
Chebbi was fined £311 and ordered to pay costs of £135 and victim surcharge of £124.
