THE former Lloyds bank building in Chipping Campden will be transformed into five apartments.
The Grade II listed building on the High Street will soon be home to five flats after Cotswold District Council approved a planning application.
This will involve mainly internal changes, including installing a first-floor staircase in the front of the building.
It will aim to keep much of the historical layout of the building, which is still currently listed as a Lloyds Bank and British Legion.
The building will come with four one-bed apartments, which will be situated in the rear part of the building and on the ground floor.
The first floor will be home to a two-bed apartment, which will go across the first and second floors of the building.
A cycle store and bin store will also be built as part of the development and a communal garden and amenity space will be provided.
Concerns were raised over there being no on-site parking and the loss of another shop on the High Street.
On the planning application, The Campden Society said: "There is a serious shortage of parking which has a negative impact on the viability of commercial or retail units.
"This restricts the number of visitors and their enjoyment of the town and has a detrimental effect on the lives of many residents.
"The town council is currently conducting a parking survey for the draft NDP which will highlight this ongoing issue.
"This application will exacerbate the extreme parking problem in Campden High Street by introducing cars associated with five extra dwellings."
Other concerns raised highlighted fears over the design and impact of work on the building, such as installing a new staircase.
