A MOON halo had residents looking up to the skies at the weekend.
A halo around the moon appears when a thin layer of cirrus cloud made up of ice crystals moves across the sky.
Refraction of the light by the ice crystals causes the halo to form.
The natural phenomena led to national attention, and reader Karina Singleton caught this spectacular image.
Karina said: "I would like to give you this stunning picture I captured of the moon from [Saturday] night with its halo around it.
"I went for a walk to see if I could get pictures of the aurora that was happening but I couldn’t as it was hazy that night so I took the picture of the moon on top of the hill in Sedgeberrow."
