NO further action is being taken against a councillor who had been accused of a public order offence.
We previously reported Emma Nishigaki was arrested on suspicion of a Section 4 Public Order offence and harassment following the alleged incident at Evesham Town Hall.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "I can confirm that a 54-year-old woman who was arrested in September on suspicion of a public order offence and harassment, in relation to an incident on September 11 at Evesham Town Hall, will face no further action."
Cllr Nishigaki welcomed the news that the allegation, which she has always strongly denied, was no longer subject to a police investigation.
"I'm delighted," the councillor said.
"As soon as the police viewed the evidence it was marked for no further action.
"It has been an extremely difficult and distressing time for me.
"As I stated in September I am entirely innocent of every allegation that was made against me.
"I remain resilient and determined to represent the electorate by whom I was elected.
"There will be further updates on this story to come but, at the moment, for legal reasons, I cannot comment."
