THREE holiday lets in Worcestershire have won national awards.
Hallgarth Farm Holiday Lodge in Peopleton, Malvern View Lodge in Pershore and Grafton Mill in Grafton Flyford have all been recognised by online travel agent Sykes Holiday Cottages.
Hallgarth Farm Holiday Lodge won silver in the Best in Central England category, while Malvern View Lodge and Grafton Mill scooped silver in the Best for Couples and Best Renovation categories respectively.
Sue Tarran, who owns Hallgarth Farm Holiday Lodge, embarked on her holiday letting journey in 2019 after giving up work to care for her elderly mother.
Sue invested her pension into the property, opening it to holidaymakers in 2022.
She said: “I’ve put so much into making Hallgarth Farm Holiday Lodge a success, and consistently get great feedback from my visitors, but an award like this really does mean a lot.
“The lodge’s south balcony offers uninterrupted views of the open countryside and this is often the first thing guests comment on when they arrive.
“Providing everything holidaymakers need to relax - including a hot tub, children’s play area, and barbecue - was really important to me, as I want them to feel like they can truly switch off during their stay. I’ve met some fantastic people over the past 18 months and love sharing my heritage with them.”
Malvern View Lodge is situated in the grounds of the owner Nigel Pritchett’s home and offers a cosy break for couples looking to escape to the countryside, while Grafton Mill is a Grade II listed watermill in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside, owned by Alan Pickering.
The Sykes Gem Awards launched in 2017 and aims to celebrate the best people and properties in the UK’s holiday let sector.
Properties were judged using owner entries and guest feedback, alongside details like photos, occupancy figures and property amenities.
The judging panel were impressed by the style and facilities on offer at Hallgarth Farm Holiday Lodge, Malvern View Lodge, and Grafton Mill, along with guest feedback on cleanliness, comfort, and value for money.
Graham Donoghue, CEO of Sykes Holiday Cottages, said: “A lot of work goes into running a successful holiday let so it was a difficult decision amongst so many wonderful properties, but our final winners are those consistently going above and beyond to deliver unforgettable breaks for their guests.”
