An Evesham paramedic is holding a fundraising event to get defibrillators fitted in streets and housing estates since the loss of the town’s ambulance station.
Kerry Wood has already had three defibrillators installed in the town with help from her group of friends.
She has now organised a fundraising event at Bengeworth Club for October 21.
It comes following the closure of the town's ambulance station two years ago.
Kerry said: “There is no other town to my knowledge that is doing this.
“Defibrillators are normally on public buildings and not in housing estates or people’s houses where it counts.
“I have organised this defibrillator fundraising event after witnessing first-hand the wait patients endure while in cardiac arrest.
“I have successfully had one installed on The Orchards and Greenhill and a third is going onto Kings Road in coming weeks.
“We would like our event to inspire other towns and villages to do similar or help us in our quest to save lives.”
Businesses in the town are also backing the event – which will include a bouncy castle, tombola, Irish bingo and a disco.
