A POPULAR fast food restaurant  has revealed it will re-open its Evesham branch before the end of this year following a devastating fire.

The Kentucky Fried Chicken at Twyford Services in Evesham was damaged after a fire broke out in its kitchen last summer.

The fast food chain has now revealed it will reopen before the year ends. 

A KFC Spokesperson said: "The rumours are true… our Twyford Services restaurant is reopening later this year!

"We can't wait to get back at the fryers, serving our loyal fans in Evesham our famously delicious fried chicken – see you soon!"

The news comes after the business started looking for employees. 

The chain is looking for full-time staff who will be on up to £10.50 an hour, according to the advert put out on Harri.

An exact date for the restaurant's reopening has not yet been confirmed.

On July 30, 2022, at around 3pm, huge plumes of black smoke could be seen pouring into the sky.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews from Evesham Fire Station, one from Pershore and two from Worcester.

A further crew from Redditch and the incident command unit from the Wyre Forest also joined,

Meanwhile, Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service sent crews from Alcester and Bidford.

A spokesperson for HWFRS said at the time: "The fire was inside a kitchen where waste oils and cylinders were present.

"The incident, in a single-storey building of modern construction, was sectorised with the fire fought by four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus using two hose reel jets and positive pressure ventilation.

"Utilities were isolated, and the aerial ladder platform was used for an aerial survey.

"With the incident scaled back to one appliance, which assisted with turning over and damping down, a thermal imaging camera was then used to check for hotspots, of which none were detected.

"Reinspections were then carried out at 9.30pm and 1.30am with a final full external check completed using the thermal imaging camera and a triple extension ladder."
