POLICE have issued an update saying a councillor remains on bail following an 'incident' at a meeting of a town council.
We previously reported Emma Nishigaki was arrested on suspicion of a Section 4 Public Order offence and Harassment following the alleged incident at Evesham Town Hall.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said last week: "A 54-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of Section 4 Public Order offence and Harassment.
"The arrest relates to an incident on 11 September at Evesham town hall."
At the time no further details of the investigation were shared.
Today police issued a further statement (September 25), confirming the 54-year-old woman is on bail.
Following the arrest Cllr Nishigaki said in her statement: "I can confirm that I was arrested and released without charge.
"It is part of a bigger campaign of harassment and bullying against me, which is now also under police investigation.
"I was elected overwhelmingly by the public. I will still be resilient and dedicated to residents on my Avon Ward and help improve life in the town."
