A HOUSEKEEPER from a Cotswold care home is being recognised nationally for her work.
Head Housekeeper from Mill House Nursing Home, Marzena Chmielewska, has been shortlisted as a finalist for one of the categories in the National Care Awards.
The Chipping Campden care home said it was delighted that she has been shortlisted for the Care Housekeeper of the Year Award.
Ms Chmielewska was nominated for the award after demonstrating exceptional dedication, innovation, and a person-centred approach in her role, ensuring the highest quality of service for residents and colleagues.
Home Manager Stacey Roblin said she leads by example and is an important part of the group.
“Marzena is an integral part of the team," she said.
"She leads by example and, alongside her role, can often be seen in the town enjoying a walk with the residents – often heard to say, let’s go for an ice cream!"
Aria Care, which is run by Mill House Nursing Home, is also up for five other categories, including Large Care Home Group of the Year.
CEO Caroline Roberts expressed her delight to all the finalists.
She said: “This is superb recognition of the passion, commitment and the high standard of care provided to the people in our communities.
"Truly caring from the heart enables us to continue to strive to be the best version of ourselves and for Aria Care to be the best provider of care in the UK.”
The awards will be held on Friday, November 24, at the ExCel in London.
Mill House Nursing Home provides residential care, nursing care and dementia care on a permanent or respite basis.
The home was rated good following a Care Quality Commission inspection last year.
In the report released earlier this month, Mill House was rated ‘Good’ in four of the five key areas, these being safe, effective, caring, and responsive.
The home was praised for its “supportive” environment, while relatives felt their loved ones were “safe living at Mill House”.
Meanwhile, staff were found to be “kind and caring” whilst treating residents with “dignity and respect”.
The one area the home was graded as “Requires Improvement” was for being well-led.
