A PERFORMER has made a stunning large-scale Lego replica of his beloved Pershore theatre.
A Lego reconstruction has given audiences a look behind the curtains of Pershore's Number 8 theatre, and it shows every detail - even down to the bins in the toilets.
Andrew Hemming, musical director of Pershore Operatic and Dramatic Society, spent nearly every evening for the past two years on his creation.
Sourdough, running, and knitting were all activities used to survive the tedium of lockdown, but Mr Hemming opted to reconstruct the theatre he spends most of his spare time in.
He has spent many years rehearsing and performing in Number 8.
He said he initially was only going to build the front of the building before he decided to do the whole theatre.
"It was really good to get it on display and to hear people talk about it," Mr Hemmings said.
"A lot of people saw things they don't usually see, and it was nice them seeing the asset the theatre is for the town."
The build was created out of 46,000 Lego pieces and is 170cm long, 94cm wide and 46cm high.
He used images and memory to help him recreate the piece.
"The feedback from everyone was really good, everyone loved it and was really impressed by the scale and detail of it.
"I did the lights above the stage all the way down to the bins in the toilets.
"It was nice to see old and young people looking at it in a different way and reminiscing."
A spokesperson for Number 8 added: "Having spent many years rehearsing and performing in the hallowed halls of Number 8, Mr Hemming decided he wanted to recreate the venue in building bricks!
"The result is a staggering feat of patience and detail, and Number 8 is delighted to be able to give people a chance to come along and marvel at this astonishing recreation of our favourite art centre."
