Evesham weather: Met Office issues yellow wind warning

The warning is in place from 9 am until 11.59 pm on Saturday, July 15 and this period could cause some disruption.

The wind that is expected on Saturday could cause delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport and possibly even short-term loss of power and other services, the Met Office says.

What does the Met Office say?

The Met Office also says some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves.

It’s likely that high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges could experience delays.

Some damage to trees or temporary structures such as marquees, tents and inflatables could occur.

The Met Office explained that a deep area of low pressure will affect parts of the UK on Saturday with some very strong gusts of wind likely to its south.

What different Met Office weather warnings mean

We can expect a blustery and showery day with some thunder and winds are set to gust widely to 40 mph, and locally up to 50 to 55 mph during the daytime.

The strongest gusts are likely to occur mainly, but by no means exclusively, over hills and along the south coast.

Some minor damage and travel disruption is likely. Winds will moderate later in the evening and overnight.
