A SHEEP was rescued from a river by firefighters.
Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called into action following reports of an animal stuck in the water in Bricklehampton, near Pershore.
Upon arrival, shortly after 8.30pm on Sunday (July 2), specialist water rescue teams found a sheep in need of help in the River Avon.
A spokesperson for HWFRS said: “Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service’s water first responder team from Pershore Fire Station and the water rescue vehicle from Evesham were called at 8.38pm on July 2 to rescue a small animal from water at the River Avon in Bricklehampton, Pershore.
“A sheep was located and rescued from the water by the water first responder crew.
“There were no further sheep in the river.
“There were no casualties and no other emergency services attended.
“The incident was marked as pending closure at 9.31pm.”
