HUNDREDS of pounds has been raised in memory of a late village cricketer.
Bretforton-born Laurence Chinn-Brown was just 22 years old when he died from a brain haemorrhage in 2021.
He had only just graduated from Keele University, with a First Class Honours Degree in Law.
Now, his former cricket clubs have taken to the field in his honour.

Bretforton Cricket Club took on the Keele University team on Sunday (June 11) in front of a packed crowd.
In a close-run match, Keele made up for their defeat in 2022 by coming out on top.
In total, £1,200 was raised for the Keele University Cricket Club appeal, which this year seeks to raise money to purchase defibrillators for amateur clubs.
Laurence’s father, Stuart Brown, said: “As a family we were touched by the distances several of the Keele lads travelled in order to play, with players coming from afar afield as Carlisle, Brighton, Cardiff and Manchester to name just a few.
“Also in the crowd were many of Laurence's old school friends from Chipping Campden Academy together with many from Keele who travelled together by minibus.
“The family are grateful to the many local businesses who donated raffle prizes which helped boost the takings in addition to the many helpers who prepared cream teas, cooked on the BBQ and generally helped make it a memorable afternoon.”

Laurence had been planning to move to Madrid before his death in August 2021.
As well as his dad, he left behind his mother Shairon and brothers Jamie and Theo, both of whom played in the memorial cricket match.
Laurence played for Bretforton Cricket Club in his youth and then played for his university team.
The two teams, therefore, decided to face off in a charity match last year, with Keele coming out on top.
Money was raised for Christian Solidarity Worldwide, a charity which helps people of all faiths who are persecuted as a result of their faith.
Speaking ahead of this year’s match, Stuart said: “We are still struggling to cope with it!
“He was a very caring young man and talented in so many ways and a very accomplished artist.”
