EMERGENCY services were called to a crash near Evesham. 

Fire, police and ambulance attended the fire at Hinton Cross, near Evesham, at 7.26pm on Tuesday night (May 30). 

A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said crews were called to make the vehices safe. 

The spokesperson said: "The incident involved two cars, which were left on all four wheels, and a man had self-extricated prior to the arrival of a crew from Evesham Fire Station.

“The man was left in the care of the ambulance service and the police also attended with one lane of the A46 closed northbound.

“A truck recovered the vehicles from the road.

“The incident status was marked as pending closure for HWFRS at 8.15pm.”

Firefighters were also called to a rubbish and refuse fire in Hipton Hill, Church Lench, at 8.34pm on May 30.

A Broadway Fire Station crew attended the incident which involved around two tonnes of rubbish well alight on the road with fly-tipping suspected.

One hose reel jet was used to put out the fire before crews dampened down the scene and surrounding area.   

Firefighters left the scene at  9.41pm.
