TWO fires on the same road are believed to be arson, firefighters said.
The fire service responded to a building fire on Peewit Road at 6pm on Saturday, May 20. West Mercia Police also attended.
A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “A crew and the water carrier from Evesham Fire Station attended along with a crew from Worcester.
“An outbuilding, measuring around 20m by 10m and containing bales of hay, was well alight.
“A relief crew from Evesham also headed to the scene as the incident went into the evening.
“Two hose reel jets and drag hooks were used to help extinguish the fire with the thermal imaging camera not detecting any hotspots afterwards.
“There were no casualties and the police were informed of the incident, with arson suspected due to people seen in the area.
“The incident status was changed to pending closure for HWFRS at 8.23pm.”

The following day (Sunday) Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called back to Peewit Road to a fire involving hay bales.
The spokesperson said: “We were also called out to a fire at a derelict building in Peewit Road, Evesham, at 4.30pm on Sunday. Two crews from Evesham Fire Station attended the scene.
“The fire involving hay bales was extinguished with one hose reel jet and a drag rake.
“Crews also dampened down the surrounding areas which included hay bales, conifer trees, a caravan and outbuildings.

“The police also attended with arson suspected and crews having been called to the same road the day before.
“The incident was marked as closed for HWFRS at 5.54pm.”
