A DRINK driver who told police he had only had one pint has been banned from the road by magistrates.
Carl Waters, of Dowling Drive, Pershore, admitted drink driving at Worcester Magistrates Court on Thursday, (March 30).
The court heard the 35-year-old was caught committing the offence in a Ford Transit in Worcester Road, Malvern, at 9pm on February 8 this year.
Eleanor Peart, prosecuting, said Waters made the comment to police before failing a roadside breathalyser test.
The evidential sample given by Waters was 61mcg in 100ml of breath, the legal limit being 35mcg.
Waters, defending himself, said he suffered from mental health issues that took a turn for worse at the time of the offence.
