A NEW Aztec-themed adventure golf course is to open in Evesham this weekend, providing fun for all the family.
Aztec Adventure is due to open the Lost Valley at The Valley, Evesham this Saturday.
The opening comes as the business celebrates winning the ‘Small Visitor Attraction of the Year’ Award and the ‘Winner of Winners Award’ at the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards 22/23 on Friday, March 24.
The Lost Valley is a new 18-hole Adventure Golf Course and High Rope Aerial Adventure Course which is described as 'out of this world'.
Visitors can test out their putting skills on the brand-new Aztec-themed adventure golf course, which is suitable for all ages and abilities.
A spokesperson for Aztec Adventure said: "Successfully manoeuvre around the Lost Valley Aztec temple, wooden bridge, water features and crashed plane but don’t get stuck behind the deserted Land Rover."
The High Rope Aerial Adventure Course features a cargo net, swingy steps, see-saw steps and various wobbly bridges climaxing with a 70-metre zip-wire descent.
"This provides a 'bird’s eye view', four metres off the ground, of the landscaped Lost Valley including the Aztec Temple, crashed plane, the 18-hole outdoor Adventure Golf Course and an abandoned Land Rover.
A total of 37 businesses were shortlisted as finalists for the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards 22/23 celebrating the best tourism offerings in the country. The judging process took place over the last six months with specialised judges and industry experts.
Mark Spence, director, said: “Winning these awards is a huge achievement for us. It is fantastic for the company to be recognised for the wide variety of adventure activities that we offer both on and off the water. All our team members go above and beyond to ensure our visitors have the best day out possible and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each one of them.
"Easter is always an exciting time as we open our Upton Warren and Lower Moor sites for the 2023 season. It is even more so with the winning of these awards and the opening of The Lost Valley.
"All of us at Aztec Adventure are so excited for the season ahead!”
Each award had a different sponsor, and they were Worcestershire County Council, Unmissable England and Pearooh. All winners of the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards are forwarded for entry into the Visit England Awards for Excellence, so Aztec Adventure may have the chance to win on the national stage, representing Worcestershire as one of the best tourism destinations.
