A PREGNANT sheep has died after being chased by a dog.
A couple from South Littleton are urging pet owners to take more care when walking their dog near livestock.
It comes after Mel Walker and partner Luke Farmer had to pull one of their ewes from a stream.
“This sheep was chased into the stream by a dog that was not under control,” said Miss Walker.
“This lovely sheep was also in lamb, possibly a double.
“That’s two, maybes three, lives lost because someone didn’t shut the gate, because someone didn’t keep their dog under control.
“She had no choice other than to jump to her death.”

The sheep, which was a pet, went missing on Sunday and was not found until Tuesday morning (March 21).
Miss Walker says they discovered her after finding bloody wool dotted along the stream
She says they have been told that a black whippet type dog was seen chasing the flock after a gate was left open.
Now, Miss Walker has taken to social media to share her story in an attempt to raise awareness and to ensure dog walkers keep their pets under control near livestock.
“We are very sad that she met such a horrible end,” she added.
“Shut the gates and keep your dogs under control.”
