Road closed as police recover stolen vehicles from Cleeve Prior

The stolen items, worth £60,000, included caravans, quad bikes, trailers and plant equipment.

Officers from the Evesham Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team worked in partnership with the rural crimes team from Warwickshire and the National Vehicle Crime Intelligence Service to identify the vehicles.

More than 30 items were recovered on February 21, all linked to rural crime offences.

“It required several recovery trucks to remove the items and the main road in Cleeve Prior was closed for a time,” said a spokesperson for West Mercia Police.

“We would like to thank the local residents of Cleeve Prior for their patience on the day.

“We have since identified and contacted the owners and are in the process of reuniting them with their property.

“Police investigations are still ongoing at this stage. A suspect has subsequently been identified in relation to an offence of handling stolen goods.”
