A care home in Chipping Campden welcomed more than 80 furry paws into the home as part of National Dog Biscuit Day.
Residents, family members and staff at Caring Homes’ Mill House had visits from more than 20 dogs throughout the event.
Residents cooked up home-made dog treats for the hungry guests to ensure their stay was pleasant.
The “whole home activity” ensured that residents who were a little unwell and remained in their rooms also had individual dog visitors, for complete inclusivity.
The event was organised and hosted by Caring Homes Mill House head chef, Luke Webb.
Luke said: “While most people would expect a head chef to be taking care of nutrition for the residents and ensuring we offer delicious meals, I also feel a huge part of my role is engaging with the residents.
"I aim to visit every resident every day, and being involved in today's activity demonstrated how everyone at Mill House works as a team.
“Dogs bring so much pleasure and therapy to our residents that this was a way to give back to them and show our appreciation."
The day was such a success that several of Mill House’s residents have requested this as a regular event, and will now take place monthly.
Mill House provides residential, nursing and dementia care on a permanent and short stay basis.
