A 22-YEAR-old man who assaulted a woman and has been a nuisance for his neighbours has been placed on a tight leash.
Callum Brebner, of Pardoe Drive, Pershore, cried throughout the whole hearing as he was handed a strict Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) by Worcester magistrates.
Fatima Yasmin, prosecuting, said on January 12 last year Brebner was with his partner, Courtney Marshall, when they were outside a Co-op in Evesham.
The victim had walked down an alleyway into a car park, the pair following her.
Then they got out a car, and Brebner blocked her from exiting the car park.
Miss Yasmin said his co-defendant pushed the victim before the victim managed to get her under control.
"The defendant came up, grabbed her by her hair, pulled her head back sharply," Miss Yasmin said.
"He ripped out some of her hair. The defendant pushed her to the floor.
"Both tried to kick the victim."
The court heard a personal statement from the victim in which she said she suffered pain after the attack, and had not felt safe to go out on her own.
The crown made the application for the CBO due to the behaviour of Brebner towards his neighbours which had included loud shouting, swearing and generally causing a nuisance.
Miss Yasmin added Brebner, who had 11 previous convictions for 20 offences, had originally denied assault occasioning actual bodily harm, being convicted after a trial.
Sarah Brady, defending at the court on Tuesday (February 28), said Brebner had been diagnosed with asperges, ADHD and depression and was unable to work due to his health.

Mrs Brady said the majority of Brebner's convictions took place when he was a youth, and the offence was the "most serious thing he has been in court for".
She said the co-accused had already been sentenced to a three-month curfew for her part in the attack which, Mrs Brady said, Brebner had a "lesser role" in.
The solicitor added the CBO wasn't being opposed.

Dr Carys Clarke, chairman of the magistrates bench, told Brebner he would receive an 18-community order requiring him to complete 40 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
Brebner was ordered to pay costs of £185, £120 compensation and £95 victim surcharge.
Brebner was issued a five-year restraining order not to contact the victim, as well as a five-year CBO.
The order's requirements include that he does not engage in any way that causes or could cause an unreasonable disturbance, or behave in any way that causes or is likely to cause an unreasonable nuisance to others where he is living.
