An Evesham charity has been delivering early Christmas presents to children in need.
Earlier this month we reported how a lorry full of shoeboxes filled with toys and essentials had arrived in Romania.
The gifts had been collected by Teams4u Evesham, part of the international children’s charity, at their warehouse on Davies Road.
A small team of volunteers from the warehouse has now joined the lorry in Western Romania, helping to give out the shoeboxes to children and families in vulnerable communities.
After handing out over 2000 boxes in the county of Bihor, the team travelled north across the Ruskova River to Poienile de sub Munte, just 20 minutes from the border with Ukraine.
There, they handed out around 800 shoeboxes to children, some of whom had never received such a gift before.
Once back in Oradea City in Romania, the remaining shoeboxes were given out to homeless families and individuals supported by Raul Gherle, one of Teams4u’s overseas partners.
