Work on a new water play park in Evesham is to stop for three months.
Abbey Park’s splashpad is undergoing a £330,000 revamp, with work having gotten underway earlier this year.
With the first stage of the development due to be completed by the end of the week, Wychavon District Council has confirmed that work will then pause for the winter.
Contractors will return to the site in 2023 with the aim of having the site ready by April or May, just in time for the summer.

Work began on the new water play area at the end of September, after plans were approved by Wychavon District Council over the summer.
A report, discussed by the council’s chief executive board at a meeting on July 20, read: “The replacement of the water play facility at Abbey Park has been a priority for several years as the existing provision is now outdated in both design and operation.”
The splash pad forms part of £630,000 investment programme into the district’s parks and green spaces approved by councillors.
Hydro blast jets, a water spider, a spray cannon, an archway with jets, and a water curtain will all feature in the new play area.
There will also be tipper buckets, an accessible wavy bridge and a new seating area.
Cllr Emma Stokes, executive board member for resident and customer services on Wychavon District Council, said: "It's fantastic to see work start on the new water play area in Evesham and another example of how we continue to invest in our award-winning parks because we know how much people value them."

Wychavon District Council is also planning to replace the water play areas in Pershore and Droitwich, due to open in summer 2024 and 2025 respectively.
Other planned works as part of the investment programme include a new play area for St Richards Open Space in Evesham, improvements to Lawley Way Play Area in Droitwich, and a series of upgrades to footpaths and resurfacing in various locations.
This comes after recent investments include a new embankment slide in Droitwich’s Lido Park and a table tennis in Workman Gardens, Evesham.
