The World Cup is fast approaching, and many are already planning where they’re going to catch the action.

Evesham residents looking for a bar to watch the Three Lions in Qatar will no doubt be spoilt for choice.

But one pub has already made it clear it won’t be having any of it.

The Red Lion in Market Square announced on social media that it won’t be screening any matches throughout the tournament.

Announcing the decision on social media, a staff member said: “We don't have a TV and won't change that.

“So, The Red Lion will be a football-free haven for anyone who wants somewhere peaceful to escape to when the matches are on. And at any other time.

“Best of luck to them though.”
