An Evesham fish and chips has shared a ‘use it or lose it’ plea with its customers.
Tom Jones, the owner of Hampton Chip Shop on Peewit Road, has taken to social media to urge residents to shop at local, independent, businesses.
Mr Jones said: “This town has so many independent businesses, I’m just one of them, and this is for all of them.
“If you're in town and you want something for breakfast, you’ve got Buongiorno on Bridge Street, Delicious on High Street, and Monica’s and Butler’s.
“Later in the day you’ve got Food To Go on Briar Close and Flavours with their Italian pizzas. Pushing into the evening you’ve got Charlies in Market Square.
“This is just a small sample of what we’ve got in town.
“This video is not for me to tell you that I want you to use me, I’m telling you to use somebody who is independent and local in the town.”

In the video, posted on Facebook, Mr Jones compares the meals available at his restaurant to that of an unspecified national fast-food chain.
He demonstrates that his business offers customers around double the amount of food for roughly the same price.
He adds that national chains often face issues such as long wait times but claims that this is not so much the case when shopping locally.
Mr Jones continued: “There are so many independent businesses vying for your business and we see these takeaways, these national chains, that are just rammed every night.
“But we put passion into the food. If you have an issue, we will deal with it.
“Sometimes we have a bad night, if you have a complaint we will action it as well, it’s not just going to ring off the hook and be left unattended
“So please, you don’t have to use me, please just use any independent business in your town
“If you’re not in Evesham and you’re watching, you will have an absolute plethora of options for you.
“Just go and find something that you enjoy
“Have an explore and if it’s a little bit more money, even one or two pounds more, I will guarantee that you will get more passion and more actual product for your money.”

Food To Go showed their support for Mr Jones’ message in the comment section.
A staff member wrote: “Thank you Tom and totally agree with you!
“We use all locally supplied produce and would only ever sell food we as owners would eat, quality food, good size portions at a reasonable price.
“We are so thankful for every customer.”
