Pershore Abbey will hold a special commemoration service in honour of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
On Sunday, September 18, the town landmark will welcome in residents to pay their final respects.
Starting at 7:30pm, the half hour service will offer a time for quiet reflection, ending with the National Minute of Silence at 8pm.
The service will be led by Canon Claire Lording.
Upon the announcement of the service, she said: “At this time of national mourning, it is good that we can gather locally to pay our respects to our late Queen.
“As we try to process a range of emotions grief brings, this is an opportunity to unite as a community in our ancient Abbey Church and take comfort from togetherness as our thoughts turn to the state funeral to be held on Monday.
“At this special service, there will be the space to offer our own thoughts and prayers for our Late Queen, whose committed herself to a life of service and dedication to her people, wherever they were.”
Everyone is welcome to attend the service and further details can be found on the Facebook event set up for the occasion.
