A MILITARY plane will be flying over a fete near Worcestershire this bank holiday weekend.
The City of Lincoln Lancaster Bomber will be flying over the Willersey Fete on Bank Holiday Monday.
The flypast will be making three passes over the village from 2.08pm.
As well as the flypast, the fete will feature a variety of stalls, attractions and entertainment, including a magician, Chipping Campden Morris dancers, a bouncy slide and a bouncy fun run.
Jess Ingles, lead organiser, said: “Willersey's Village Fete is definitely going to be the place to be on Bank Holiday Monday afternoon.”
A display of vintage cars and tractors, skittles, various food options, a dog show and a raffle, where people can win a 20-minute experience on a Tow to 2000 flight, will also be on offer.
The fete is also a stand from the RAF Association, fitting in with the aviation theme.
This event is organised by Saint Peter’s Church and previously raised £2,500 for charities such as Riding for the Disabled, Guide Dogs for the Blind, National Children’s Trust and the Samaritans.
The fete has also supported St Peter's church itself as well as village organisations, like Willersey Village School and the Women’s Institute.
This year, organisers are aiming to commemorate those in the airforce when the Lancaster flies over.
The village lost four people in the second world war, shot down in Lancaster Bombers.
Sqn Ldr Henry Maudslay, DFC, and Edgar Proctor will both be honoured for their sacrifice when the plane flies overhead.
The fete will begin on Monday at 1.30 pm.
