PIES and chicken have been axed by an Evesham chippy due to the cost of living.
Hamptons chip shop, In Peewit Road, will be making cuts to its menu with southern fried chicken, potato wedges and pies all being dropped.
This comes amid rising costs and a change in consumer habits.
Manager Tom Jones said: “We are removing three items off the menu for the foreseeable unfortunately and I will be honest and explain these reasons.
"The decision to take items off the menu is never done hastily.
“Unfortunately I think you will begin to see a lot of places either take lines away or simply increase the prices drastically to cover the costs.
"I can assure you, in this current climate, prices going up at your small independent business is never due to greed, but simply trying to survive.
“Southern fried chicken, jojo’s (a type of potato wedge) and pies have all fallen victim.”

The chicken and jojo’s have been cut from the menu as they use the same machine, which requires a lot of electricity and can only make small batches.
Mr Jones added: “With electric, oil, flour and chicken prices all rising, we would have to charge an embarrassing amount per item just to cover costs.”
The pies meanwhile have been removed due to a lack of demand, combined with rising costs.
“Pies are one that is more seasonal but also haven't really performed well for a while,” said Mr Jones.
“We may bring these back in the winter when the demand is there, but unfortunately there is not the demand to get them in and the wholesale costs are up 33 per cent in the last year.”
The chip shop will be looking to introduce new items to the menu following the cuts, and is open to suggestions.
Mr Jones added: “I have been testing various different products in the shop, either with regular customers, on Uber-eats, or behind closed doors.
“I will hopefully be able to add some new lines in soon that are zero-wastage, more exciting and a bit more with the times when it comes to the current craving for street foods.
“Until the new items drop, we will do some regular offers, we have a few giveaway coming up as well, and we will still be listening to any suggestions people may have as to what they may want to see on the menu.”
