THE 'best and worst' GP surgeries in Evesham and Pershore according to patients have been revealed as part of an annual NHS survey.
The top-rated practice in Evesham and Pershore based on the results of the survey was Pershore Medical Practice with 86 per cent of respondents saying their overall experience had been 'good' - closely followed by Riverside Surgery in Evesham with Abbotswood Medical Centre in Pershore and Abbey Medical Practice in Evesham joint third.
A total of 78 per cent of respondents to the survey said they had a ‘good’ overall experience at Merstow Green Medical Practice and 68 per cent of those asked said the same at DeMontfort Medical Centre in Evesham – the lowest across surgeries in the two towns.
Despite having the fewest people saying they had a good overall experience, DeMontfort Medical Centre had the most people saying it was easy to get hold of the surgery on the phone and second highest number of people saying it was easy to make an appointment at 71 per cent.
Abbotswood Medical Centre in Pershore had the most respondents saying it was easy to make an appointment at the surgery at 78 per cent compared to 68 per cent at the Riverside Surgery in Evesham, 67 per cent at Abbey Medical Practice in Evesham and 66 per cent at Merstow Green Medical Practice.
Pershore’s receptionists were praised in the survey with 96 per cent of respondents at both Abootswood Medical Centre and Pershore Medical Centre saying the receptionists at the surgeries were helpful.
According to the survey, 92 and 91 per cent of people at Merstwood Green Medical Practice and DeMontfort Medical Centre in Evesham said the same with 87 per cent and 83 per cent of people at Abbey Medical Practice and the Riverside Surgery in Evesham saying its receptionists were helpful.
The figures come from the NHS’s annual GP Patient Survey which reveals how Evesham and Pershore’s doctor’s surgeries were rated between January and April this year.
The highest rated surgery for making an appointment was Abbotswood Medical Centre in Pershore with 78 per cent of patients answering the survey saying it was ‘easy’ compared to 59 per cent of respondents at Pershore Medical Practice.
A total of 71 per cent of respondents said the same at the DeMontfort Medical Centre in Evesham with 68 per cent at the Riverside Surgery, 67 per cent at Abbey Medical Practice and 66 per cent at Merstow Green Medical Practice all saying it was easy to make an appointment with a doctor.
