A car has finally been removed from the river in Evesham thanks to a community effort.
The blue Peugeot 206 is believed to have ended up in the River Avon at Hampton Ferry around 18 months ago.
Early in May, the vehicle was moved to the side of the banks by the Avon Navigation Trust, where it remained for several weeks.
However, a team of volunteers came together ahead of the Platinum Jubilee Weekend to remove the car once and for all.
David Shortell, one of the volunteers, said: “As a retired police officer I saw this on Thursday and thought it was such a shame that it was spoiling the beautiful appearance of Boat Lane especially with the special celebrations happening.
“Within 16 hours we had managed to recover the vehicle and return the slipway to a usable access point for the local fire service.
“Great work guys”
The Peugeot was removed from the river on Friday, June 3, with Graham Bakers Motors helping to pull it out.
Fellow volunteers Kenny Richardson and Richard Hill also helped with the mission.

Journal reader Steve Wootton witnessed the Avon Navigation Trust's original removal efforts.
Speaking at the time, he said: "It was full of silt and the back window was really filthy, so some time I would have thought.
"It was interesting to see, hope nobody was hurt when it ended up in the river."
