More than 10,000 people flocked to Evesham over the weekend for the town’s first food festival.
The two-day event on Crown Meadow featured more than 60 stalls, with visitors able to tuck into a wide range of food and drink.
Thoughts are already turning to next year’s event.
Wychavon District Councillor Richard Morris, executive board member for Economic Growth and Tourism, said: "It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves at Evesham’s first food festival, which did a brilliant job of celebrating the local area and produce.
“I can’t wait to see how we build on it next year.”
Mayor of Evesham, Sue Amor, added: “I thought the Evesham Food Festival was absolutely wonderful.
“I visited all the stalls and was lucky enough to sample lots of delicacies I hadn’t seen before.
“Well done to everyone concerned. I can’t wait till next year’s event.”
Drinks for the day were supplied by Moongazing Hare Bars, from the team at The Fleece Inn.
Landlord Nigel Smith said: “It was great to be involved with the first Food and Drink Festival. To see so many local drinks suppliers really showcases the great choice Evesham has on its doorstep.”
Among the food vendors were Flavours of Evesham, which had a special raspberry and asparagus ice cream on offer, which sold out within hours.
Owner, Vinny, said: "It was a great weekend of sunshine, cool vibe, good food and fantastic people.
"We hope to have similar events coming into town."
The festival was organised by Blue Strawberry Events, with support from the Vale of Evesham Commerce and Tourism Association (VECTA) and the District Council.
The event also featured live music and entertainment, including face painting by Jo Kite and Jane Blundel of Funky Faces.
“It was so fabulous, the sun was shining and people were out enjoying the arrival of summer,” said Mrs Kite.
“We’re hoping to be part of next year!”
There were also appearances from some familiar faces, including Gus the Asparagus Man and the world’s only Asparamancer, Jemima Packington.
Bonkers Activities were also on hand, treating guests to their new ‘River Dragons’ pedalos.
Founder Kim Bonk said: “It was a pleasure to be part of the attractions in Evesham over the weekend.
“The park was absolutely buzzing, with such a great atmosphere.”
“Credit should go to the event organisers. We are happy to be doing our bit by bringing boating back to Evesham.”
