A "distinct aroma" in Evesham is being investigated.
At last week’s town council meeting, councillor Robert Raphael raised the issue in a discussion with Severn Trent Water representative Andrew Fairburn.
Cllr Raphael noted a “distinct aroma” in the town centre during summer months.
Speaking after, he said: “There is quite a stink in Market Square and Bridge Street at times, particularly in warmer weather.
“Clearly sewers are either not coping with demand or something is failing.”
Andrew Fairburn responded, saying: “Our local manager is looking into the aroma as a matter of urgency.
“The cause could manifold – so we’re investigating.”
