AN archaeologist of more than 20 years’ standing is helping to organise a small festival in Evesham looking at the ‘graffiti’ in the town’s medieval buildings.
Wayne Perkins said: “When we say graffiti, we mean inscriptions that may have been made to bring good luck, avert the evil eye or to defend against witchcraft!”
The three-day Graffiti Fest event begins with an illustrated talk to the Simon De Montfort Society (SDMS) on Thursday, April 7, and another to the Badsey Society on Friday, April 8, while the SDMS is helping to promote a guided tour of the Abbey Complex (All Saints & St Lawrence’s) on the morning of Saturday, April 9.
