Hour by hour forecast for Evesham as heavy rain and wind hit Worcestershire

Most areas of the county can expect rain throughout most of today, adding to the high winds already experienced this weekend.

Heavy and persistent rain will spread north across the region in the morning, feeling unpleasant in blustery winds and the heaviest rain.

The rain is likely to get lighter with some drier spells later on in the day, though it will remain cloudy throughout.

Looking further ahead, Monday will see a generally cloudy start with a band of showery rain moving eastwards during the morning.

The skies should break later with some sunny spells.

There are currently no flood alerts or warnings active on the River Severn, though this could change as the situation develops.

Further afield, the Met Office said a jet stream would see England, Wales, and southern Scotland receive outbreaks of rain.

The Southeast, however, will stay dry with some sunshine, the wind and rain arriving Saturday night.

Met Office chief meteorologist, Steve Ramsdale, said; “A new area of low-pressure, this time moving across England and Wales, arrives on Saturday night then slowly clears to the east on Sunday.

"This brings wet and windy weather to the country, particularly Wales, and we have issued a Yellow National Severe Weather Warning for rain for this.

“As the system pulls away from the UK there will be another short lived, colder and more settled spell Monday night with one or two wintry showers possible over high ground in Scotland and perhaps a frost elsewhere.”
