It has been a busy month for a group of samaritans in Evesham.
Anti Litter Evesham completed their final litter pick of the year this month as well as taking part in the Evesham Christmas Tree Festival.
The final pick took place along Davies Road, a layby on the A46, and the footpaths towards the schools off Four Pools Lane.
Despite these areas having public litter bins, the group collected ten bags full of cans, beer bottles, food packaging, and plastic bottles, among other things.
The group said the most surprising item they found was a kettle on the A46 layby whilst they also reported a "worrying" number of Smart Whip cannisters.
Luckily, some of this litter went to good use, with the group decorating trees at the Evesham Christmas Tree Festival.
A group spokesman said: "What a great community we have in Evesham taking part in the Evesham Christmas Tree Festival 2021.
"Two Christmas Trees decorated with a variety of Rubbish.
"For once we put the litter picked from Evesham to good use and with our recent litter picks we could have easily displayed over 25 trees."
The group's efforts were just two of more than 23 trees on display at the event at All Saints Church earlier this month.
