Pershore’s Christingle service will be taking place outside this year.
Due to ongoing concerns around the Coronavirus pandemic, Pershore Abbey have made the decision to hold the service on Christmas Eve outdoors.
Reverend Claire Lording said “One of the highlights of Christmas in our Benefice are our children’s services and it was really sad last year when restrictions prohibited us from hosting them.
“We are very mindful of the ongoing pandemic and decided that in order to keep everyone as
safe as possible, we would organise something outside in the fresh air.
“We hope that our families will still come out and support this service in readiness for Christmas Day.
“Pershore Abi- our Benefice Bear - is already in her Angel costume ready to join in with the children!”
Families are reminded to wrap up warm and encouraged to come dressed in their favourite nativity character outfits, to take part in the telling of the Christmas Story before learning about the significance of Christingles.
The service will be held in the Abbey Park by the bandstand at 3.30pm.
Despite being scaled back, there will still be the opportunity to sing carols and for children to receive a Christingle.
