FLOOD waters continued to wreak havoc in Evesham with schools, businesses and clubs all feeling the effects.
Lessons at Bengeworth First School were interrupted yesterday morning when all pupils were moved into the main school building away from the mobile classrooms as the possibilty of flooding became apparent.
The school remained open and lessons continued as normal but parents were informed of the development and told to monitor the school website for developments.
Headteacher, David Braham, said: "We have been looking at the weather forecasts which is heavy rain and we also have the problem of water that has fallen up to 12 hours ago, which is yet to reach us.
"We have moved all of the children and equipment into the main school building and hope that we will not be touched this time as last summer we were hit very badly."
Evesham Rowing Club has been closed until further notice with floodwater around 18 inches from the lower boat house but members were hopeful of avoiding being hit for the second time in six months.
The return of heavy rains and the risk of flooding throughout the Vale area has meant that swans are once again under threat.
Jan Harrigan, from Wychbold Swan Rescue, is concerned that the fast flowing water, as well as causing a loss of natural feeding habitats, could also churn up sediment and old fishing equipment which she believes may be causing high lead levels in the birds.
Evesham restaurant Champan, was set to open this week but the floodwater has put those plans into doubt. Sandbags were piled up at the front door of the building on Waterside with work still going on inside to ensure the restaurant is ready a possible weekend opening.
