A woman had to be cut free from her car after a serious crash on the A46.
More details have emerged following a pair of serious crashes on the A46 yesterday.
Yesterday we reported that a man had died following a crash on the Hinton Cross junction.
It has now emerged that another crash had occurred at almost the exact same place, just an hour earlier.
At 8:52am Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue was alerted to the crash on Cheltenham Road, Hinton-on-the-Green, which involved two vehicles.
Two crews attended the scene and had to cut the roof off of a car in which a woman was trapped.
A statement from HWFRS said: “A medically trapped female casualty in her 40s was released by fire service personnel with hydraulic cutting equipment used to remove the vehicle’s roof.
“She was then handed over to the ambulance service who attended along with police. The incident was marked as pending closure at 09:52.”
West Midlands Ambulance Service has confirmed that an ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
The woman sustained "injuries not thought to be life-threatening" and she was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further checks.
The fire service was alerted to the second, fatal, crash at 9:51am.
