REMEMBRANCE services will take place across the Vale on Sunday to mark Remembrance Sunday.
However, this year Evesham will not host a church service due to ongoing concerns around the Coronavirus pandemic.
Vicar of All Saints Church, Andrew Spurr, confirmed that for the second year running there will be no church service as any event would require restrictions on who could attend which he felt is not in keeping with the spirit of Remembrance Day.
There will however be a parade, with uniformed organisations and ex-service personnel set to meet in the Market Square at 10:15am before the parade sets off around 20 minutes later.
The procession, led by Avonbank Band, will head down Bridge Street to the War Memorial via the Crown Courtyard and Abbey Park.
Meanwhile, town councillors and other invited guests will meet at the town hall where they will set off from at 10:50am.
All parties are scheduled to arrive at the memorial no later than 10:56am before the Last Post is sounded just before 11am prior to the two-minute silence.
In Pershore, the Remembrance Sunday service will be a ticketed event as a result of the Covid situation.
There will be 100 tickets available for the general congregation for the service at Pershore Abbey which are available from the Benefice Office or by contacting 01386 552071 or office@pershoreabbey.org.uk.
The service will begin at 10.40am following Eucharist and will also be streamed on YouTube.
St Andrew's Parish Centre once again will be host to the Weeping Window of Poppies, while earlier this month Pershore Abbey celebrated the 100-year anniversary of the town’s War Memorial which coincided with the centenary anniversary of the Royal British Legion.
Other services in the area will take place at Broadway War Memorial, Cropthorne War Memorial, Lower Moor Church, and Wyre Piddle War Memorial which all begin at 10:45am.
A service at St Ecgwins in Honeybourne is scheduled for 3pm whilst Fladbury Church will host morning service at 10:15am before the Act of Remembrance on Fladbury Green.
