A community group in Evesham held its first open day for two years.
On Wednesday, November 3, u3a in Evesham marked its 20th anniversary with an open day at All Saints Church.
Due to the pandemic, it was the first such event held by the group in two years.
Despite the weather attempting to dampen moods, chair of Evesham u3a Deborah Andrews was delighted with how everything went.
She said: “There was a lovely atmosphere around the place and the new venue went down very well.
“At this time of the year and especially when we seem to be constantly surrounded by bad news, it is more important than ever that we all have something we can look forward to – an activity we love, a new skill we are eager to learn or the chance to catch up with old friends – or meet a few new ones.”
Founded nationally in 1982 as The University of The Third Age, u3a branches can be found throughout the UK and the Evesham group is celebrating twenty years of operation, having launched on November 1, 2001.
The organisation is aimed at anyone no longer in full-time employment offering a variety of activities from architecture sessions to yoga classes.
