An Evesham care home is in the running for a prestigious national award.
Cavendish Park has been shortlisted in the Community Involvement Award at the Caring UK Awards, which recognise the very best of the care sector across the country.
Customer relations manager at the home, Mel Hoskins, is delighted with the early success the home has had in its first few years of operation.
said: “I am incredibly proud of the team here at Cavendish Park by Majesticare, and feel privileged to be part of the amazing community that is Evesham.
“Since we opened in September 2019, we have made some fantastic partnerships with so many incredible groups and organisations.
“During the last two years, we have seen nothing but commitment, inclusivity and dedication from every community within the town and surrounding villages. If we win this one, we are bringing it back for you Evesham!”
The home is one of seven finalists in the category with the winner being revealed at an awards ceremony at The Athena in Leicester on Thursday, December 2.
The award show will be hosted by Emmerdale actor Dean Andrews and will see many people in the care industry gather to celebrate their work, which has been particularly challenging during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The awards have been organised by Script Events in partnership with leading care industry magazine Caring UK and sponsored by Virgin Money.
A spokesperson of the Caring UK Awards said: “Never has there been a more appropriate time to recognise the amazing and selfless contribution that our carers make and how they have given so much to protect and care for their residents in the face of unprecedented challenges.”
The Community Involvement Award is one of 21 awards up for grabs and is said to honour care homes that are integrated in the community, having used links with local schools, colleges and groups as well as having a team of community volunteers.
