A company in Evesham has won a prestigious European award.
Squab Storage, part of Vale Business Park, was crowned the FEDESSA (Federation of European Self Storage Association) Independent Storage Facility of the Year.
The company was presented with their award at the annual industry awards at the end of September in Birmingham.
The competition was fierce with more entries than ever before, from businesses all across the continent.
The company’s director, Emlyn Evans, said: “Being a family business we are immensely proud to reach be recognised as the best independent self-storage facility across Europe.
“All credit must go to our amazing team at Squab Storage Evesham”.
He added: “It must be said that we would not have been able to succeed if it wasn’t for our many customers in and around Evesham.
“Our success demonstrates how thriving Evesham is, as well as how successful businesses are in the town at the current moment in time”.
Meanwhile, store manager Emma Banks was nominated for manager of the year, finishing as runner-up.
She said: “Having joined Squab in Evesham just over two years ago it has been amazing to see how the business has grown so quickly.
“Being recognised as the runner up in the FEDESSA Manager of the Year award has been fantastic.
“It’s been a lot of hard work from the team, but it’s we’re now seeing the rewards from the fact we do things differently”.
Squab Storage opened in Evesham in April 2019 and has recently announced it will be opening an expansion to its site on Monday, October 18.
Whilst a business in its own right, Squab also plays host to a number of local entrepreneurs, with around 50 per cent of the storage space at Squad occupied by businesses
Among the companies who use the site are the husband-and-wife team behind Hollings Fitness, who use the space as a personal training studio.
The site is also host to a barbershop, Alfredo’s, and an operational hub for Evesham-based carpet and bed specialists, Bradfords.
