A businesswoman from Wyre Piddle is among the UK’s most ambitious entrepreneurs.
Rachel Jenkins, managing director of lingerie and swimwear brand Curvy Kate, has been named as one of The LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders for 2021.
The programme, now in its fourth year, aims to celebrate the nation’s most successful and fast-growing companies.
Ms Jenkins said: “I am thrilled to be acknowledged as part of the Top 50.
“My ambition for the business is driven by the fantastic team around me and the passion to make women feel fabulous about their curves.
“Steve Hudson, our Founder has shown support and guidance during a difficult and changing business landscape, with an improved business model we have been able to continually deliver his vision and push through adversity.”
Curvy Kate’s value has quadrupled in the last nine years, and it is hoped this upwards trajectory will continue with a plan to increase profit by eight times in the next 10 years.
The brand provides clothing for women with D to K cups and uses “inclusive shoots, diverse size ranges and innovative fuller bust designs” to achieve success.
Companies included in the top 50 employ more than 9,500 people and contribute more than £1.2bn to the UK economy.
LDC’s John Garner said: “The last 18 months have presented challenges that none of us could have foreseen, but despite everything, it’s fantastic to see that so many business leaders have achieved remarkable things.
“Through their resourcefulness and resilience, this year’s Top 50 Most Ambitious Leaders prove that the flame of ambition is hard to extinguish.
“Congratulations to all those featured, and we look forward to seeing their continued success and impact, and contribution the broader UK economy.”
