PANIC buying of fuel has had a knock-on effect locally with housing association tenants warned to expect delays to repairs.
Rooftop Housing Group, which looks after some 6,500 homes in southern areas of Worcestershire and northern parts of Gloucestershire, took to social media to explain that vans carrying maintenance workers had started to be affected by the flurry of people heading to the pumps following reports of shortages.
The statement read: “We have been talking to our main repairs contractor Platform Property Care (PPC) about refuelling issues for their vans.
“PPC staff have been given advice on refuelling and on fuel economy, but with queues at petrol stations causing long waits to refuel there may be delays to some repairs.
“Your repair is important to us and we at Rooftop, and our partners at PPC, will try to minimise any disruption caused.”
