A CHARITY had a pleasant surprise when staff members from the Santander bank in Evesham delivered 60 Easter eggs.
Staff at the Evesham branch decided to provide Easter eggs to the charity after seeing an increase in families using food banks during the pandemic.
Rebecca, who works in the bank, said: “With the need to use food banks on the rise, the team at Santander decided to raise donations of Easter eggs for Caring Hands charity in the Vale.We had such a great response to this, with Home Bargains in the town donating the trolley as well as five eggs, as well as a large amount from the community.
“We are so overwhelmed by the support and donations.”
The eggs were delivered to Caring Hands, an Evesham-based Christian centre on Bewdley Street which operates a successful food bank.
“It’s really great to know the community are still pulling together, even with such difficult times,” said Rebecca.
She added the idea came from all of the team members at the bank: Denise, Dawn, Sylvia, Sharon and Sonia and Tracey.
